His favorite writers include Fleming, Raymond Chandler, Robert Parker, Charles Williams, Gil Brewer, Jim Thompson, Tom Clancy, John Lescroart, Alistair MacLean, Donald Westlake and Ernest Hemingway. That's rightguys' guys.

teach at Baruch College in Manhattan,” Orcutt says. “It's interesting because as much as I enjoy the real man's man writers, I adore smart, beautiful, capable women, so many of my best characters are of the female variety.”
A longtime lover of chess, Orcutt always wondered what it would be like to be a genius at the game; Ms. Krüsh is the result of those musings.
When he’s not writing, Orcutt enjoys a few distractions including golf, tennis, jazz, acrylic painting, the Boston Red Sox, target shooting, camping, nonfiction books, travel and NotWriting.com.
