A few months ago, I stumbled upon a comic strip by Keith Cronin about the nonsensical world of writing, writers and publishing.
Normally I don’t go in for comics, but Cronin’s humor is so dry and apt that I had to share it with you. It helps if you’re a writer, yet his stuff is broad enough that just about anybody can find it humorous. I’m including two of my favorite 4-panels below:

I discovered you by means of your page at Publishers Marketplace. Your evident humor coaxed me to orcutt.net and to your blog therein. The before-the-weight-of-the-world young picture and the not-actual-size current picture were the first things that grabbed me. When I got to orcutt.net, I laughed at the by-the-numbers stats you provide. Once I got into actually reading your posts and other material on your various pages, I decided that I liked what I saw. I’ve now added you to my list of places to visit regularly.
You should continue pursuing the dream. Your writing is definitely good enough and simply needs to get before the right pair of eyes.
I hope to hear from you, but if not, I’ll continue to peep through your e-windows for enjoyment and to hear firsthand of the publication of your novels. Good luck.
